Rear end question

I have a 1993 Ford f350 2wd with a 7.3idi and a e4od how can i tell what rear end i have

Look under the truck and compare what you see to pictures online. One of the bolts on the differential cover should have a metal tag stamped with the axle ratio.


The door tab should have the axle code, and you can match that up to lists you can find online, however its possible someone may have changed it. Most likely your truck has a sterling 10.25.

Sterling 10.25

My 1990 4x4 F350 dually rear axle tag was missing. Door sticker says 4.10 ratio but no mention in the particular code that it is Limited Slip. I've had it apart and it definitely is LS, has the clutches in it! I wondered about it when I spun both sides pulling down a tree.
Maybe it was upgraded, but i think without the tag, one can never be sure what exactly it is.

I found my tag, it's a Stirling 10.25 4.10

4.10, it also has a code s189g.. I looked it up on the Ford website and it says Stirling 10.25 4.10 gear ratio
