I am having an issue with my 2016 6.2 super duty and am hoping someone can help. Yesterday night when I parked my truck it was running and driving totally normal with no sign of issue. This morning when I went out to start it, I turned the key and nothing happened. I get a “Starting system fault” and that is all I have to work from.
Through reading around I have heard that apparently many people have had this issue resolved by disconnecting harnesses above the parking brake and simply reconnecting them. Maybe I am missing the correct one, but as far as I can tell I have disconnected and reconnected anything accessible in this area.
Not really sure what my next move should be.
UPDATE********
Problem has been solved but won’t delete as this may help someone else out.
My Key FOB had gotten wet and I guess fried it. Heard from a friend that has a 2015 that apparently the FOB talks to the truck and it isn’t just the key that allows the truck to start.
used my spare key and truck started immediately.
