I have a 351w (speed density) out of a wrecked 94 bronco I'm installing in a cj5. I have the entire bronco and I got it running before I pulled the drivetrain. My question is what do I need to run power to to make this run? In searching ive read it only needs 7 wires but I haven't found specifics. It is paired with an E4OD but I have a T19 I might put in instead.
If you want to keep using the SD EFI system, you need to take the EEC and its entire wiring harness and all the sensors and actuators that go with it. (The fuel injectors are some of the actuators.) If that bronco had an automatic transmission, it was probably also controlled by the EEC. So that's a lot more than 7 wires.
The "7 wires" just came from a thread I found searching prior to asking on here. And I will not be using the e4od, I didn't think about the speed sensor being in the axle
I want to continue using the system it has with only what it needs to run. It's something I can figure out, I guess i was just hoping to find a write up on it or someone who can throw some pointers around. I have the engine out and I just need to take the harness off the firewall,
I have an old Haynes manual for Mustangs up to 1990 that provided full electrical diagrams, including the EEC, for each engine available with the car. I used it do help me when I converted the SD system on my 87 Mustang to MAF.
Maybe they have the same thing for a 1994 Bronco; you can check.
Thank you, looking over a fuse box diagram i think the 7 wires reference was talking only 7 circuits that needed 12v supply to make the engine run. I'm going to give that a whirl and see if I can make it run on a stand first.
