I know this has been answered a million times, but my old governed carb is leaking and I'm not sure it's fixable without excessive expense. Can I replace it with a standard vacuum secondary 600cfm unit? It's in a 1975 F600, on a 361 with a 4bbl.

Yes. You just have to plug (I remove the vacuum control lines at their source to clean it up.) and then drive it like a human being with intelligence and not just keep it floored.
I'm going you drop it off to a local parts store that does a lot of rebuilds on these. I'm considering swapping to efi with a Holley sniper, or running an msd box to keep the governor. The killer is I drove this thing home a year ago.
