I've got a 2022 F450 Platinum. I tow a 20k 5th wheel. At times when driving up hill the engine will start whining like the rpms are shooting up real high. But, the rpm gauge does not move nor does the turbo gauge move nor does the truck downshift. I can't figure out what is causing it to should like the rpms are shooting up. I know that is not a great description, but I hope it gives enough of a clue to help me figure out what is causing it. Thanks.
Yes, and the fan will come on to varying degrees, depending on demand from the pcm, so sometimes it can be extremely loud.
when I'm towing over 30k with mine, moving excavators, pipes, etc. Through cities, mine sounds like a jet engine taking off for flight! It screams so loud, everyone will start looking at it. Especially when oil it at 235 degrees.
