Does anyone have a good fix for the squeaky spring noise I get every time I depress the clutch on my 1980 F100? I've tried spraying the assembly with everything from WD40, garage door lubericant, lithium etc. To get at it I've removed the instrument panel and dash pad. Any information on the replacement procedure of that spring (and source) would be much appreciated.
If mine makes noise I have never paid much to it
I have seen foam padding put around it or inside the spring.
Dont know if it helps or not as I dont hear it or just tune it out.
After all it is a truck
I do know the clutch pedal dose not come up all the way but I just pull it up with my toe when I think of it.

edit: I just checked pictures of the pedal assy. I have before install and I am not seeing any spring on them.
I think they call it a over center spring and it was to bring it back up "over center" but it never did so think I removed it.
It did the same on a non-Ford car I have and removed it there also.
