Do I need to change the coils (500 to 1200 dollars) when I replace the spark plugs 96000 miles and ya I know I'm late on the plugs. Are ford dealer coils better than auto zone coils?
If they aren't bad or damaged I don't think I'd personally replace them. That said, you never know when the originals are going to crap out (if ever) so it's a good preventative maintenance.
Someone else will have to chime in on if OEM or aftermarket is better. If you're going to go aftermarket it might be worth it to look into performance ones.
