I have a 78 F100 that I bought to restore. It is a 2wd, LWB, and 3spd on the column mated to a 300. The suspension is completely stock, no modifications at all, as is the rest of the truck. I noticed the day I bought it that the front end was not sitting perfectly level. Now, my first reaction was to replace shocks all around. Then I replaced the front coil springs with a factory TRW set. Also, I shed the 600lb+ hydraulic liftgate from the back and installed the orig. tailgate and bumper. That helped some, but the front end is STILL sagging about 2-3 inches on the passenger side. The rear of the truck sits level, with a set of factory helper springs installed. I have a bad cab mount on the passenger side, with plans to fix that, but the bumper, and suspension also sit funny, with uneven tire wear. THis is definately more than a bad cab mount....so any ideas? This is driving me NUTS! I have a great looking and running truck otherwise, and for it not to be level just kills me. I'm frustrated and out of ideas. Any suggestions/prior experience with this problem will be appreciated.
I've already replaced the front coils. TRW factory set. No change.
But it definately helped the driveablility and ride. Thanks, though.
I'll check on those rear leaves. I think that the helper springs might be throwing one side off a tad. I don't know. But that is definately worth a shot. Thanks!
