Tried to find some thread so going to give a shout out. Getting ready to marry body to chassis but want to finish one thing while easily accessible. I have upgraded to booster/dual master, proportioning valve and front disc. My original line from the small splitter was shot and maybe an 1/8 inch line?? want ot upgrade to lines next size up have the rear axle plumbed and new braided line up to chassis so figure on at least 15ft to the front. Has anyone upgraded? what did you do after the proportioning valve? like to get some ideas. TIA
I’m not exactly sure what you’re asking.
If you’re talking about hardline, you want nickel copper 3/16” or Bundy tube.
I recently plumbed some brake line for some cars that my buddy is working on.
On the new master cylinder front fitting goes to the rear shoes, and the rear fitting goes to the front disks. Don't forget a 7 psi residual pressure valve to the rear, or the springs will create to much slack in the drums. YMMV...
Bending and flaring your own brake lines is not difficult. The tools are reasonably priced (unless you want to spend a lot of money . . . .). There are plenty of YouTube videos to show you how. I messed up much line and a number of the tool tips while learning to put my lines in, but it is much cheaper than having a professional do it, and more rewarding. (Full disclosure: I plumbed the brakes on my '65, I have yet to get to the brakes on my '61 Unibody, but will make the lines myself for this one too.)
Appreciate the pic I like the way you set up frt brakes with my new booster, master and pressure valve do you still need the lines all curled up side by side? Don't see to much of them anymore I know it was for body torque and flex plus no air bubbles
