I did not know what amperage relay you need to buy .I guess you do !!! I finally got a 30 amp I think & wondered if I should have gotten a smaller rating 
Also . I never noticed the seal on the distributor until now . Now I see why Ford may not supply a factory gasket , even though parts houses sell them
Now I will not worry as much if I installed a gasket or not.......
The seal looks to keep any oil from escaping 
...and........
My 302 dist. sets flush on my engine ( I think ) & yours sets in a hole........I just noticed that also.........
Anyway , hope you got it all sorted ...
