Can anyone tell me what the contoured washer that sits on top of the inlet seal of the fuel injector to guide the ball tube into the fuel injector in a 2006 f350 6.0 powerstroke is called?
I broke one of them and can't find find a replacement, probably because I don't know what to search for.
I believe you are right, but if I remove an injector, I am going to put all new o-rings on it (and I know people change that top o-ring with the injector still in the engine, but I would not recommend that on a forum ........just too much potential to drop something).
You're very right Mark, in-truck injector work like that is a terrible idea.
I was just referring the OP to the correct part that he was asking about. I got the idea that maybe the OP somehow broke the washer while changing the seal "I broke one of them"
Can't say for sure what happened, but an o-ring change is necessary for sure!
Those beveled washers do not come in o-ring kits typically.
They don't come in Ford kits, but I was pretty sure that they were included in the Alliant Power kit sold by Accurate Diesel. My memory can be poor at times, but I know that this was discussed a few times in the old days.
EDIT - reading the detail on that AP kit, it does list that injector top D-ring.
Oh, we're talking about two different things here. I think the OP was asking about the steel spacer right below the snap ring (which is what I linked) rather than the rubber D-ring. The Alliant kits do not have the steel spacer, or at least it isn't listed on the Accurate listing (and I never got one when I did mine in Feb).
I had to reuse mine, so I had to take care when removing the snap ring.
