On my 50'F1, thinking of replacing my TPI Chevy 305 (anyone need one?) with a big block. Questions are (a) is there a weight consideration (have Volare front suspension), and (b) can I use the same motor mounts for both BB & SB Checy motors? Thanks.
I used to have a chart of engine weights, but can't put my hands on it right now. If I remember correctly, the BB weighs about 100 pounds more than the SB. With the Volare suspension, the most you might have to do is re-adjust the torsion bars for the extra weight.
I maybe interested in that 305. If you don't mind let me know where it is, how much you want for it, and how it runs. Please let me know. I just had my 223 drop a valve. I maybe in the market for a cheap motor.
Thanks,
Jack
