I did but I'm not going to pay $80 which is what he quoted me. I can see maybe $20 but no more. Hell I got ramshead exhaust of a dump truck for $50 and a complete low mileage y block for $200. I'm not going 80 on a small piece. Probably be reproduced right after I bought it.

You could be extremely unlikely and lucky to find one at $20. $80 isn't terrible in today's dollars for a reasonable one. Very nice original ones will be much more. As you have discovered, they are not abundant.

I really don't know how abundant they may or not be. Haven't been farm truck crawling in a while but these trucks are abundant around here. I've never had a problem finding what I need reasonably priced over the wide variety of my cars. Not a big enough issue for me to get to excited about at $80 though.

One has to remember that Denny has time and money invested in finding the parts. While the purchaser (you for example) sit in your warm house In front of your laptop thinking it's readily available on every corner.

for the leg work he does he is entitled to ask a profitable price.

and as you expressed you are able to walk on by and see if you can find for less.

hours of driving, and I look at that as life endangering these days on the roads. Hours of wild goose chases to most times to get nothing. Glad you didn't ask me for my $125 emblem.

Magic air

That's why I got the center dump manifolds for a y block for $50 from an abandoned f4 stake bed sitting out in a field 10 miles out.I look every where in this NW area. So not a big deal to me.Won't make or brake mine.

There was a Yblock in an F4?

I don't know what your plans are for the rams horns, if it was a Yblock that was transplanted from a large truck Yblock into the F4 the rams horns won't fit a Yblock in a 53-56 F100-F-600.

Hey Riki!
I learned a while back that sometimes you can get a great deal on things, other times you have to pay a little more to get something else.

There is an old saying:

The cost is soon forgotten if you're happy to have it.

Hope it all works out for you!

The ramhead manifolds are on my 256 y block which I put in place of the 215-6 that was in it. Standard y block manifolds hit the steering box so the center exit rams work perfect.

Good deal. You got the correct rams horns.

How many different rams horn manifolds are there? I thought there was only one, used in big trucks but would fit any truck?

So for the Ford Y-block there is only one? I was confused by Abe's statement that he had the correct ones, as if there were more than one option.

yes for our applications (239-272-292-312 there is only one style of ram horn manifolds
without me getting books out there were 2 different casting numbers. B8T and a C2T if I recall correctly. The C2T were substantially thicker that the earlier B8T and most times when finding the earlier they are cracked. They both fit our little y blocks.
And the reproduction are basically the C2T version as they are very nice and thick

Also the ram horn manifolds either our ford or the larger Lincoln take specific manifold to block. The first pic is the straight across bolt pattern ford y block

This staggered pattern is for the big Lincoln y block
