Brake Fluid Change, old was Green?
I flushed the Old DOT 3 Brake Fluids out for 200k Service, and the old was Green? All Brake lines are Original. Hoses were replaced with Russel Braided lines a long time ago. 2001 XLT, RWD Disk with Parking Drum.
Why is my brake fluid green? The brake fluid can turn green by the addition of the metal particles of the brake lines or wheel cylinders in the brake fluid. This happens when pressure is applied on the brake pedal to reduce the speed of the vehicle. Furthermore, in the case of leakage in the brake system, the oxygen contamination can turn this fluid green
The brake fluid is usually yellow. But in some cases, it turns green because of water or oxygen contamination. Green brake fluid means that the acidity level in the braking system is high. This acidity can destroy the grip or control of the brakes by destroying the brake seals if you don’t fix the cause or change the fluid.

Thanks, I did a thorough flush of the system. Replaced the Front Pads. Test braked and drove the Truck and Checked Temperatures all the way around with a Fluke IR Thermometer. Don’t see anything thing indicating a Caliper Sticking. Tires about killed me, going to have to give up brake jobs or have someone recommend a tire dolly. Pushing 70, makes it tough. In a couple weeks, I’m going to replace the back pads.
