Hello Ford enthusiasts, I'm a new owner of the bus built on 2012 E350 chassis with 6.8 gas engine.
I bought it with not working blower motor and I found cutted wires right at the enter to the motor. I replaced blower motor and resistor, but that didn't help. Relay doesn't click when I turn on switch on panelboard and there is no +12V on 50A fuse under hood box
Please give me advice or maybe you have more wiring diagrams. Thank you
I've replaced blower motor and resistor, replaced couple pins and now it works, but "low" and "medium" speeds seems the same, do you feel any difference between two those speeds? Maybe low quality resistor?
There are actually four speeds. On my 2009 there is a noticeable difference in fan speed at each step.
As you mentioned, the resistor is the likely cause if a step doesn't "step" as much as expected.
Last question is "Does it really matter?"
Oh, so looks like I don't have the lowest speed and two mediums feels just like low
Doesn't really matter, but I'm kind of perfectionist, especially if I'm spending time and money) Will try to measure motor voltage on each step
Not mentioned so far but a very common issue with the Ford heater system is the blower speed switch---they pass too much current over a long period of time and fail with visible signs of high internal heat. I've had this happen more than once on different E-Series, its a good place to check. This or worse is what you might find:
