2023 LED Headlight Question

I recently took possession of my 2023 F250 Limited and noticed on my headlights when in Low Beam mode, only the lower portion of the LED light is on. On my 2022, both the top and bottom LEDs were on in Low Beam mode, so I figured this was a change for the 23s. When I flick to high beams both light up. However my neighbour has a 23 F250 Lariat with the LEDs and noticed that he has both sections lit up when in Low Beam mode. So now it has me thinking I have a defective set of headlights.

I'm curious on your 23 do both portions of the headlight light up in Low Beam mode?

Hopefully this questions makes sense.

EDIT - Some quick YouTube video searching it seems that Platinum and Limited trims only have the lower portion light up, but any other trim with the LEDs have both sections lit up.

EDIT #2 - Might have answered my own question. I have the LED projector lights and it seems there are LED reflector headlights (Lariat etc) and then Halogen reflector headlights (XLT etc).

exactly

the old trucks with led projectors had the main beam
on lower bulbs with a less powerful bulb top half. At least that’s how my 21 seemed to behave

then for 23 you have 2 different led options (reflector & projector). The reflectors light too and bottom and the projectors are just lighting up the lower bulb now

inpersonally like the appearance better when both top and bottom bulbs light up as I think it looks nicer

but I’m sure the new projectors provide a pretty nice beam pattern when you’re behind the wheel.

here’s my 23 with led reflectors to reference….

Thank you for the pictures! I agree, I like the look of both of them lit up.

I had the projectors on my 22 Limited so I assumed something was wrong. However I noticed the 23 projectors are 'bending' lights and they have a little animation when you start them up.

yeah that’s why even though I like the 3rd person perspective from the outside when both top & bottom are lit

but I bet the new projectors provide a much improved beam pattern that makes them worth it over what I have.

dont they also self level now?

They do have a much more noticeable beam pattern. And yes they do seem to self level. No more blinding people when loaded lol.

If possible, could you try to do a comparison between the Lariat and Platinum lights?
I am really curious how different they perform.
