2000 v10 which ATF
Wanted to baseline my '03 V10 4R100. First, just to do it as I picked up the truck early last year and didn't see any service history on the transmission. Second, noticed a hard shift every once in a while into reverse or a shudder-hard shift every once in a while into 4th.
Let my local trusted shop know (known the owner 20+ years), he checked the fluid (and although it looked good) , recommended going across the street and have it flushed, no filter change. Had Jiffy Lube flush with Pennzoil High Mileage ATF. They charged for 17 quarts @ $7 a quart. Labor $89. $215 total.
Truck has 100K miles on it and the last 500 miles since the flush has shifted smoother across the board and the reverse / 4th gear issues noted above are gone.
I'll keep you posted if I run into any issues.

My 00 exc has 258k and the v10 drinks about 1Q of oil per 1500 miles. The big decision is do I keep pouring $ into it including new engine at some point, body work, or do I ? Nothing much compares.Wanted to baseline my '03 V10 4R100. First, just to do it as I picked up the truck early last year and didn't see any service history on the transmission.
