White or argent grey.... I believe OEM stock steelies were white. No black color from the factory.
A F250 rim is measured or called 8 on 6 1/2". So 8 lug bolt (holes), measured at 6 1/2 " (inches). middle of the hole and then across to the opposite one. Just like you are doing. So 8 on 6 1/2" ='s165.1 MM or 6 1/2" is 16.51 Centimeters.
And yes you need to get 16's or 17's (rims) to have WAY better choices on tires. And yes NO 15's, I bet a 15" rim might not even fit. Depending on your backspacing/offset.
And you are in France, so you have to order from the US anyway right? Do you find that spare tire position give you a when looking over the shoulder blind spot? Ever think about moving it to the dvrs side of the bed?
Back in 1988 on our first Moab Jeep Safari there was a 1978 F-150 short bed regular cab 4wd that was black and matched this truck.
He and his wife were from AZ. They had a shell on the back and two 4" black PVC pipes mounted on the shell that they filled with water
and the water was heated during the day so they could take showers.
He had installed a Dana 60 rear and replaced the 6-lug spindles on the front Dana 44 with 8 lugs hubs wheels brakes and so on.
He had 8-lug 15" steel wheels custom built because he wanted to keep the size of 15" tires he had when it was a 6 lug truck.
Lockers front and rear, it was a pretty cool truck.
No you just have a bed side tool box. You do NOT have the Ford truck that has the bed side panel that comes to put you spare tire in there. That is a Camper Special set up. You should be able to mount that spare under the rear fuel tank. Pics in a bit.
I know you want to go new, but just to toss is out there, 16 in rims with a 8x6.5 bolt pattern is pretty common the e250 and e350 had it as well as the f250's and f350s after they abandoned the 16.5" rim up into the 90's chevy and dodge also used them for a while, but you might have less luck with that route. i know a lot of chevy 16 8x6.5's have too small of a hub for the dana 60
i have an aluminum set that have an alcoa style look from a 90's f250 on mine... only issue was finding the right wheel studs to accommodate the thicker aluminum rims.
