Got a vibration from about 30-75mph but only when accelerating or going up hill or under load. It gets worse the faster you go till about 75 and then drops off a bit but still there. Don't think it's the engine as it runs pretty smoothly. What you all think it is?
Driveshaft out of balance or bad u-joints? Is there oil all over the snout of the rear axle? Could be the pinion bearing is going out. Is it a 2pc rear driveshaft? Center bearing could be going bad.
Could also be your rear end bearings going out.
Mine would have a vibration hum like effect between 15-45mph.
Was ONLY under a slight load. Popped open my rear end cover and caught the bearing before they went out and took the gears out with them.
Worst cause you simply put the cover back on with some sealant and some new fluid in it.
Start your engine. Put the transmission in 1st gear. Keeping your foot firmly on the brake, give the truck some throttle. You want to raise the engine RPMs under load, but you do not want to spin the rear tires.
Do you feel a vibration? If yes, it is an engine issue. If no, it is probably a driveline or tire issue.
