Purchased it from a dealer and there was a micro switch installed as pictured along with a red led in the same area. I cannot see how it affects any functionality so far. Before I start chasing down wires, I was wondering if you have any thoughts as to what this is? It looks to be anandoned...the led was held by double stick tape which failed. The led doesn't light either.
That’s something that was installed buy the previous owner. The Ex didn’t come with anything in that space. It was probably some aftermarket gadget or possibly an alarm switch. You might have to follow the wires to solve the mystery.
You were right. It goes to an overly complicated very old audiovox fm modulator for a dvd player in the second row. Not sure what the intent was but I will hit up the diagram. Push come to shove I can just remove it and modernize it if it doesn't work correctly. As it sits, there is no remote for it and there is no audio from the headsets that came with it which I find unusual as I would think the headsets should work independently of any FM modulation....but never know. The microswitch can always be used for something else I guess. The double sticky thing is the remote receiver.
Also, not a fan of the wiring in that area. Looks like some silicone was used. It has held up, but I am more a fan of heat shrink and soldering personally.
Any idea what this is being attached to in this area? The ignition?
There is a power inverter under the seat which is connected to it via that thick gauge red wire which I am of course happy to have.
Thanks.
