Stuff fixed under warranty, a compilation
I ordered it and delivery was prompt. New on the lot the tailgate fit was awful. Dealer dicked around with it twice, sent me to another dealer. They kept truck several days and installed new tailgate. It didn't fit right either. I wanted my truck back so said "screw it".........
The brakes intermittently have a really bad squeal. Dealer said warranty didnt cover that.
Radio has a problem, worse when its cold.
Gearshift lever came OFF, right at the tranny top. Totally, completely off. Fixed under warranty.
Interior lites would sometimes stay on. Warranty fixed it.
Spare tire mount (up under the rear of truck) failed. Unable to lower spare tire. Warranty fix.
Sometimes the dash warning lights come on, dealer cant reproduce the problem.
In remote elk camp, starter failed. Warranty fix and Ford paid for the 85 mile tow. This was a happening that _REALLY_ pissed me off, and really screwed up my elk hunt. It was kinda scary, too. When the starter failed, the cab filled with thick noxious smoke. I've often wondered if it was really a starter failure, or something else.
Truck has developed an intermittent "fast idle" when cold........fast to the tune of about 1800 rpm. Dealer cant reproduce problem.
Front tires wore on outside.... drastically. Dealer said alignment was bad, but not covered by warranty.
I bought this truck NEW in Oct of 2000, it's now got 27,000 miles. I'm not real happy with either my dealer or Ford.
