So the 5.3 in my Silverado took a dump, and the frame on my 95 flareside cracked. I love my Silverado, and my 351 runs strong as hell. To put my 351 and e40d into my Silverado, would it be easiest (electrically) to swap my entire wiring harness from my flareside into my Silverado and lengthen wires where I need to? All I’m worried about is making it run and having lights/signals.
Find something that doesn’t involve so much work to put the 351 into.
Just thinking a bit, I’m sure 351 to the Chevy would be “easier”, but I’m sure something will hiccup when the OBD2 setup is missing inputs that an OBD1 setup doesn’t have.
It would be more work than it's worth. It's doable but it's extremely hard to pull something off like this. If you're looking for power a 5.3 or 6.0 would be worth it like everyone is saying and if you want reliability keep it stock and use the non variable timing engine.
