I have a 1980 f100 and I planned on replacing the bed as a winter project and was hoping too use a prefabricated bed kit. Unfortunately I can’t find much of anything for 1980+ years. I see a lot of kits available for 73-79 model year though and didn’t know if anyone knew if they are a fairly similar fit and would work ok or if there are any other recommendations people had.
You did not say style side or flare side but only kit I think would be flare side?
You are right no bed sides or fenders for the 80 to 86 trucks.
You can get cross beams, wood kits, metal straps, front panel & tail gates and that is it.
You can find tail lights that will work but no brackets or plate brackets or plate light.
So you need to find good parts to make a flare side bed on kit.
