460 mounts

Did ford change the mounting holes on the block or did they remain the same from 73-96? I was told 73-79 ford 460 truck mounts would be a direct bolt on, can anyone confirm that? By the way the engine I’m using is a 460 efi out of a 91 f250 and wasn’t sure if ford changed stuff by then.

Have Autozone pull both mounts and compare the bolt holes
I think they should be the same
Dave would surely know, maybe he will chime in

The block stayed the same from '68 till the end of production. The mounts from the '70's truck look sort of like the ones on a Chevy V8 where a stamped steel piece bolts to the block and then that straddles the rubber mount part that bolts to the frame. My truck has this style of mount and they are a pain.

The 73-79 460 mounts should work, but will only work on 2WD trucks.

So if I'm reading this right a 460 block (just the block) out of a 73 T-bird should mount to a 97 f250HD right?

Yes. It'll bolt up to the mounts no problem.
