I'm considering buying a reconditioned computer for my truck. It's a 2000 Expy with a 5.4. and it's 2WD.
I've looked at several websites that sell these that are supposed to be ready to run.
My problem is that my part number is listed on their sites as being for a 4.6 engine and not a 5.4.
Is it possible that the same computer is used on both engines and it doesn't matter?
My model is-YL1F-12A650-BC (it's been in the truck as long as I've had it and I assume the PO didn't change it either)
The sticker also has:
ZUT2
EEC-V
MLC-496A
Does anyone on here know about this?
thanks,
Jim
EDIT- There are 7 different part numbers listed for the 5.4 Expedition on their site: 1L1F-12A650-CA, 1L1F-12A650-CB, 1L1F-12A650-CC, 1U7A-12A650-BXA, 2L1A-12A650-FA, 2L1A-12A650-FB & 2U7A-12A650-ALA
The 1st and the last 2 digits are different than mine.

Are you getting the part number off their website or did you get it off your ECM?

I got the part number YL1F-12A650-BC off the sticker on my computer. The others listed under my edit came from their website.
Update:
I googled my part number again and found a site (OBD Tester.com) that says my part number is in fact used on the Expy 5.4's.
I didn't know about the PATS thing when I started this thread. I'm still not sure if I have that or not.
If I do, how can I be sure my stuck will start with their computer if they don't have my keys to match the computer to?
How can I tell if I have those special keys or not?
They look like regular keys to me.
