I have a 2006 f350 5.4l 2wd that I want to make a 4wd so I bought a 05 f350 6.0 4wd for the axel and the transfer case. What all need the go into the electrical on that?
Hopefully you got a manual transfer case, that's the easiest for the swap. If you have a electric shift transfer case I'm sure the wiring is there tucked up in the harness, at least you should hope. If not you'll need to trace back the harness on the 05 to a main connector and pull that entire harness out and install it into the 06. The ESOF switch connector is hidden behind the panel where the switch goes that is covered by a blank panel right now. You'll need to swap the spring buckets in the front too. The front driveshaft may or may not fit. My 09 swap the diesel front shaft was not the right length for the gas chassis, had to order the shorter shaft. You;ll also need at least the pitman arm from the 4wd if not the box too.

I don't have the manual transfer case which is the problem, I do have the shorter drive shaft and the different spring buckets. The plug for the switch is not in the current harness, my only concern is the the harness from the diesel is different than the gas being that the cluster is different as it has a boost gauge. So I don't know if I can just plug the gas cluster into the diesel harness or not.
You will not need to be up in the cluster. My 08 diesel donor had a transmission/xfer case harness that had a module on the drivers frame rail about where the xfer case was and maybe it also ran back to the gas tank and the rear axle, but it ended in a larger connector up by the fuse block in the engine bay. I got a roller donor not a full body so it was unhooked from the cab or the fuse block before I took possession. .I never installed that module or harness, I didn't see a reason to mess with it, the case extender and manual xfer case just bolted in and the PCM didn't seem to need to know it was there. the only thing I don't have is a dash light to say if its in 4hi/lo, I'm pretty sure I can look down and figure that out. If the handle isn't obnoxiously buried under the dash it must be in 4hi, if its a little beyond straight up its in 4lo. won't go anywhere, N.
