After looking at my dad’s 1965 f100 sitting out in the pasture for 20 years, I decided to see if I could make it road worthy again. Now that the cab is restored and she runs pretty good, I m try to find the most cost effective solution to the rusted out bed floor I’ve come to realize I’m not going to find a good salvage bed in Alabama. Any suggestions or contacts will be greatly appreciated
Have you searched craigslist or fb marketplace for truck bed trailers? You may find one that way or a later style bed that you could use the floor from.
I have (2) spare shortbeds with great floors that I have been saving. I also have a bit of spare parts like shortbed frames, doors, fenders etc for 64-66 F100 pickups.
I am in central Ms. just north of Jackson. If interested send me a pm.
When discussing the bed floor, keep in mind that the cross braces will probably be in just as bad a shape. Possibly the lower part of the front wall will have suffered. So, there's more than sourcing a patch for the floor. Certainly time and money ahead if you can find a decent bed.
