I need some help trying to decide on a level kit or lift kit. I have a 2021 F250 XLT 7.3L. I’ve gotten some different feedback on some options as get a coil level kit or lift. I’m not to sure what the difference may be. As well as some good shocks to run with it. Not sure what’s best to run as tires go 35s or 37s.
With the 7.3 if you go with 37s, the only way I’d do that is if you don’t ever use it as a truck (towing/hauling heavy).
If you’re just asking for personal opinions, I would go with a level and 35s. Then it would look nice while still being able to be worked like a truck is intended.
Left mine stock and put 35's on. Just barely fits in the garage, and most other places with 7 foot height restrictions... You can "level" with a spacer block or replaced the springs. For an inch or two, just to clear tires, it doesn't matter, might as well do the spacer. With the right wheel offset you can do 37's with a level and maybe slight rubbing. Decent lift kits that function off road are $8000 and up. Look up Carli suspensions. I would love a loaded Backcountry kit form them...
I use it to tow my boat and camper then of course use it for light/medium off road during hunting season
you’ll get answers from people telling you to leave it stock or the gas trucks won’t even be able to get up a small hill……..up to people telling you 40s would be fine.
in my experience a good balance between stock capability (overall gear ratio, un-sprung weight etc) a set of 35s looks a lot better than the stock donuts and will help off-road. And then a level kit will get you a little more ground clearance for the off roading as well.
It would be a great all around setup and look very nice

You probably want to leave some rake then to avoid being rear low when towing. In stock form I'm guessing you are maybe 2-2.5" high in the rear. That could be used to determine how high high and what options you have up front. If considering a full front and rear lift, that's another story. You also need to decide what you are trying to gain from the suspension change (looks, performance) and what budget you have. For tire size, 35's are easy to fit, even on a stock truck, 37's could require a couple more changes or modifications to make them work.
My GAWR is 14,000 and if I put a lift or level it, what’s a better option? Coil spring or the spacer?
Where did you come up with that number? You have a 250, the front GAWR would be something like 4800, maybe 5200.
How high are you trying to go, the height you choose might change the answer to that coil vs spacer question. For example, there are very few choices in a lift coil that will give 1-2" of lift. Most coils are 2.5" lift and up.
Yeah I am gonna see if it has snow plow or HD springs on it. As mentioned above it should be around 5000
Really your best bet is something like a 1 inch daystar spring pad, or 1 or 1.5 inch lower spring spacer from someone else. Fox 2.0, bilsteins, or RS7mt shocks.
I like the fox ifp steering stabilizer as well.
Take it to a good alignment shop and get some caster shims.
At these lift size on a 20-22 you shouldn’t need to mess with the trackbar as long as you have stock springs.
35x12.50 on the 0 offset wheels. Or 295/70/18 if you want to go a hair shorter for gearing. 315/70/17 121 also work on an F250 rear gawr (one of the advantages of a 250 is you can run that size).
You may want the 315 or 295 if you have 3.55 gears. Shorter is better.
I’ve kinda gone back and forth trying to decide what I would like to do. I have a budget of about 5000.00 and would like to really get something that I would be happy with and not try to keep up with the jones
if $5000 includes tires it won’t get him any of the options (which is what makes Carli worth it) and I can tell you he will be disappointed.
without the radius arms, torsion sway, upgraded shocks, rear leaf springs (then he’ll also need their long travel bags) I have seen way too many people complain they didn’t get the ride they expected when they went with their basic kit.
optioning out a carli kit to make it worthwhile is going to run closer to $6-7,000 just by itself (back country kit with the options). Add tires and you’re $8-9,000 depending on what you choose for tires.
And if he’s not installing everything himself you’re over twice the budget he has set for the project before any shipping etc.
I just really learned about Carli suspensions. They seem to be top of the line. I would definitely have someone install level/lift kit. I don’t know that I wanna spend the Carli price. It’s nice getting different thoughts on here. I appreciate everyone’s help.
