I have a 2017 F350 with a flat bed. Running lights on the cab work but don’t work on the flatbed. If I have my buddy reset the body control module, it works until I hit a bump. Then when I flip the switch it works until I hit another bump, but then eventually it stops working again. I thought it was the flatbed wire harness, but I replaced it and it didn’t work. Then I realized the running lights on my trailer didn’t work with this truck either. Can’t find any exposed wires or reasons for a short. I’ve taken apart all the connections and checked continuity and everything checks out. Any suggestions?
Sounds like a poor ground on both the flatbed and the trailer to me.
That was the first thing I tried. I took off the ground connections cleaned and sanded them and put them back on. I checked them again later. Running lights on both my trailers work with my other truck.
