Looking for leather interior kits
If it matters, I have a crew cab. The front 40/20/40 bench seat has a fold down arm rest with two cup holders. The rear bench seat is 60/40 folding.
1. Find a suitable donor truck that was Lariat or above with leather seating, and swap all your interior out for that. This is likely the easiest solution if you want to do the work yourself, since you will just unbolt your old seats and bolt in the new ones.
2. Contact your local Catskinz rep, who will use your existing hardware to create new 'covers' that fit EXTREMELY well and almost look factory. This is more expensive than buying a whole new interior typically, but you won't spend a lot of time searching for the interior you want, they can just make it and install it.
I did the Katzkin kit on my 06 F-250. It's NOT difficult but is time consuming. I bought my Katzkin kit from an eBay seller. I did this by myself, so I disassembled the rear seats in the truck so I could carry them out. You will need a GOOD set of Hog Ring pliers about $30.00 for a decant set & at least 150 Hog Rings - I bought the pliers & Hog Rings off eBay. I think I spent as much time cleaning the carpet, seatbelts & seat tracks along with lubing & painting the tracks as I did actually reupholstering the seats. The most difficult parts for me was the back part of the jump seat. The part you see when the seat is up. The Katzkin cover for the jump seat has a seam running across it and the factory cover doesn't, so I my seam slightly crooked. My drivers seat bottom cushion was warn so I also bought one of those - "The Seat Shop" has them for $118.00. The entire Katzkin leather upholstery kit was about $750.00 if I remember correctly. I did my seats about 5+ years ago. I also did my seats in the summer when it was 100+ deg. Temps here in the Central Valley of Commiefornia so I could really stretch the leather and work the wrinkles out. You can do the same with a hair drier. After I was done I left the truck in the sun with the windows rolled up & in the heat of the day worked the last of the little wrinkles out with the palm of my hands.
Here's the good news "The Seat Shop" has several installation videos on installing the seat covers on your 06 F-150 here's the link - there's a total of four :
I have never done upholstery before in my life but I'm pretty handy - like I said NOT Difficult but time consuming to get it all done right. If you have any questions please feel free to ask - PM me & I can even email you a BUNCH of pics I took while I did my truck which just happens to a 2006 XLT F-250
