One of the things I like about the Blackvue is that it will tell you “an impact was detected in parking mode” if the truck was bumped or the tailgate was slammed😁. It can be a good reminder to get out and take walk around the truck to double check.
I had my truck less than a month when it got “punched in the nose” in the parking lot folding over the front license plate.😡

About a year ago I bought a Rove R2-4K for about $120, plus a Samsung 256Gb SDXC memory card for about $40, plus a Donger Technologies rearview mirror power adaptor for about $30. Easy peasy because no wiring was required and the video looks good enough for me. Pretty sure you do need an "auto-dimming" rearview mirror for the Donger adaptor to work. No problems so far except the suction cup gave up once or twice in the heat.
Good luck!

Wolfbox G840s. Mounts to the mirror, has GPS and a rear camera. The only thing I don't like is that the camera case on the truck (for the highbeams and collision alert) blocks a small part of the view and the mirror is off a bit, but I rarely use the mirror and can switch to the rear camera view instead.

I ran the wires up/down the passenger side pillar, behind front door weather moulding, down the passenger side door sill, up the rear pillar, and I tucked the wire up under the rear edge of the headliner.
My power source was in the passenger side foot well as I am using upfitter switch #6 to control the power to the dash camera.

Don't kick yourself. They are ALL chinese. In fact, there are only a couple different cameras...the main differences is all in the plastic case they are mounted in.
