Hello, I have a 2004 f250 lariat 6.0 (151,xxx) and have had issues with the p0470 for about a little more than a month now and was looking for some new knowledge as all the forums I've read on this issue haven't gotten me to a solution yet.
THE PROBLEM- I first was experiencing common issues the EBP sensor causes when it fails, lack of power, poor fuel economy, and my truck actually stalled twice. I replaced the EBP sensor with an OEM motor craft replacement and cleaned the tube though there was no buildup. This kept the code way for 2-3 weeks and fixed all the issues the truck was experiencing. The code came back and I found the hose going to the map sensor was corroded so I replaced it and cleaned the nipple it connects to on the manifold (if this helps the truck gave me a p0401 code the day after I fixed this while towing a light load I believe I caused the boost tube on the turbo to slightly leak while I was messing around near it, pulled the pipe off cleaned it and the code has stayed way) I cleared the p0470 code but it came back again today. The freeze frame data shows me all the sensors are reading 99-101 kpa, I pulled the EBP back off and cleaned the tube again, while there I checked the resistance from the plug to PCM I did not get a reading over 5 ohms and the pigtail is also new.
Is there anything else I can try as I assume the code will return in a week or so?
One can almost never be too sure you don't have an air leak in the CAC system, there's so many places they can leak. Check them good, and look for soot evidence.
Does the EBP read the same pressure after sitting cold all night as the other pressure sensors - BARO and MAP? If not, the sensor or wiring are bad.
Every time the code has been set after an attempted fix was after a drive, the most recent time was about a 30 minute drive max speed around 65 mph, 30% city 70% highway. The truck had sat for about an hour and half the light came on at 0 rpm and if remember correctly coolant temp was 52c and intake air temp was around 30c. I can't actually see the EBP reading at the time the dtc was set however the MAP and BARO were reading at 99 and 100kpa respectively, reading the data live the EBP seems to agree with the other sensors. If a leak in the cac systems would give me troubles I do have access to a smoke test machine I can use to clearly determine leaks. I will check and follow up thank you.
