Need some help

I need some help diagnosing a problem. My wife started up my truck this morning and she called me saying that all the gauges except the fuel gauge were pegged to the left as if the truck was off and there was this extremely loud whining and grinding noise coming from under the truck in the transmission area. My truck is a 4x4 6.9 with c6. Has anyone ever heard of anything like that? I haven't been able to duplicate it. I will say the transmission is having some issues lately. Clunks into and out of forward gear, and reverse especially revers, shutters and shakes when I accelerate.

Is it possible your ignition switch did not release and the whining noise was the starter?

I was thinking about that too and I guess it is possible it got stuck but I don't know how that would interfere with the gauges and the engine temp warning light.

If your key rotation is gummy it could be. I dont know much about the circuits in our trucks and I think many circuits go dead when cranking, except for oil shut off and ignition.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Ford Super Duty concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.
