the "bracket" that the oil filter screws into has a square adapter and the "stock" oil pressure sensor (that the electric wire hooks to) and then another sensor that went to another guage. If I twist the square hickiw out can I just twist the stock sensor into the hole?
It may be tough to tighten up the stock sensor after you thread it in. Alot of the Ford engines used a adapter to move it out from the block. It was used in the 60's and early 70's on small block as well as FE engines and even Y blocks. Why not just remove the extra sensor and get a plug that size thread and eliminate it? Just an idea.............
My stock sensor sits on the end of a piece of pretty normal looking 1/4" NPT pipe. The sensor itself is 1/8 NPT I "think" that the hole in the block (in my case, a 240/300) is larger than 1/8"
The second sensor is probably for an oil pressure guage. The single lead sensor is for the low oil pressure "idiot" light. Do you or did you have an electronic oil pressure guage?
I am in the process of going in your direction -- picked a nice little square brass Male-Female-Female "T" to allow me to use both sensors. Sound very familiear to what you have.
If you don't want the adapter, I'll buy it from you. I need it to add the gauge sender on mine.
Yeah, I know I can buy one at the parts store, but it's easier to get one from a truck you know is the right size.
