Question Leveling kit / tire size combo???

I am thinking of the SuperLift leveling kit and either 285/75's or 265/75's on my stock 2002 F250 SD rims. How would that work out, ok? I don't want the whole monster tire/lift setup. Just want to level it out and put a little more meat on the road.

My people at Hardcore 4X4 in nearby Visalia, CA say that the SuperLift is a good fit and one of the easier installs because they're made to spec real well.

Will I need the SuperLift speedometer calibrator with either tire combo?

Thanks!
Daryl

I run a SL lift and love it, but Im not familiar with their leveling kits.
I will say that if it is an add a leaf system, your ride will be a lot stiffer than stock, If I were to level a truck, I would go with the hanger type, where you reatain your stock spring and ride.

The tire fitment should work out with no problems, and I believe the dealer can recalibrate your speedo for those sizes.

Yeti,
I believe he was talking about a polyurethane spacer on each side. He said you can keep the stock shocks but they'd be maxed-out and he recommended the ProComp 3000's since I want to keep the ride as close to stock comfortable as possible. $300 for parts & labor + shocks ($37ea.X4). Then I'd have to get the front end alligned of course (~$100). So, all said and done, it'll kill $600 +/-

Sound about right? I'm probably going to go with 285/75 Bridgestone Revo's, BTW.

Thanks, Yeti.....Daryl

Hey Daryl,

Is your truck a 2x4 or a 4x4?
I never heard of polyurethane spacers for a 4x4, usually the two options for leveling are longer spring hangers or add a leafs. The difference is The replacement springs will firm-up the ride slightly (if additional weight is not present); the bracket system leaves factory ride quality unaffected.

I know SL offers both kits, but like I said I run a 8" and un fmailiar with thier leveling kits.

Shocks are deffinetly a good idea. Price wise , sounds about right.

Oops, brain-fart.... it's a 4X2. (gee, might've occurred to me that THAT bit of info has a significant amount of bearing on suspension components! Duh!!!!)

LOL,
Daryl

I know a few guys here have lifted their 2by's, but not sure if any leveled them.

I am thinking of the SuperLift leveling kit and either 285/75's or 265/75's on my stock 2002 F250 SD rims.
My 2wd truck came stock w/ 265/75/16 on stock rims.
Now I have 315/75/16 on stock rims, 2 years now with NO problems.

leveling kit and either 285/75's or 265/75's

With leveling kit, some 305/75/16 would look nice. That said, after my 6" lift, Im maybe just an inch higher then a stock 4x4 with 285's.
