HEI
Hi, I installed aN HEI distributor in my 73 F350 with a 390. Does anyone know if the bat terminal on this distributor requires 12 volt continuous voltage, 12 volt keyed voltage or can it be hooked to to the old wire that went to the pos terminal of the old coil, any info would be appreciated, Thanks.

Sure will make it a lot easier to steal with continuous, jump the solenoid and go(if it doesn’t burn out first). I believe stock it’s a resistor wire, so a new Keyed 12v is probably the way to go. Whats the matter instructions come in Chinese?

I've never seen a constant hot wire on an HEI you want keyed 12V.
Your existing coil feed is probably resistor wire so check the voltage. easiest way to get a full 12V is to run a wire from the accessory terminal on the solenoid.

When GM cars used HEI they were wired with a 12 gauge wire. Use the original ignition wire to trigger a relay that is wired up from a good 12v source. Be sure to wire the “ I “ terminal from the solenoid to the relay to provide 12v in cranking mode.
