I really, really, don't like the tic-toc'ing my truck does when I hit one of the turn signals. I've looked through the wiring diagrams and a little of the repair manual but can't find any info on this noise-maker. I'm hoping it isn't in the Steering Control Module but my luck it probably is.
Pretty much every vehicle made in the past 10 years or so does that. When they stopped using mechanical flashers and went to computer controls, they needed some sound. Personally, I prefer it to the old click click. It sounds so much better.
A bit drastic but I didn't like it either so I pulled the instrument cluster out and killed the little speaker on the back. No more clip clop. The only sound I get now is the backup sensors which come through the radio speakers
Is this something you did that is reversible? I have already silenced my seat belt nag and it might be worth it to me if I could re-enable all this fluff when I sell someday.

In theory, there is a small speaker built into the back surface of the instrument panel. I reached in and broke one of the wires in a spot that I could maybe get a drop of solder on if I changed my mind. These wires are about as fine as hair so could be tough. I passed it on to my boy and he's good with it quiet so it's untried. Jim
edit-I didn't try to get into the housing, maybe easier to repair although the speaker is probably mounted on a circuit board so I didn't try.
