Tire Size

I own a 97psd, What is the largest tire I can run on my truck with the factory wheels and stock suspension, without any rubbing or bottoming out?

Most factory rims are usually 7 inches wide. My tire guy said that he wouldn't recommend nothing larger than a 285\75 R16 tire. I just put anew set of 265\75 R16's michelins on my 99 psd . That is really all you need. Bigger tires , from a practical point of view are an unnecessary expense. They cause your frontend to wearout quicker, harder on all drivetrain parts, less fuel milage , and they are considerably more expensive. The only positive is that they "look" better and they are currently the "in" thing to spend your money on. Just my point of view.........good luck with your truck.......s.kuteman

There is something to be said for "looking better" though, don't you think?

I just put some 255/85 r16 on my stock F250. They are about an inch taller than the 265/75, but they are not as wide.

I have 265/75/16 on my 97 f-250 4x4. They fit fine no rubbing or nothing.

250 or 350? My 250 has 285x75x16's. No rub, even with plow on it and hitting those darn compression waves (frost heaves) in the road.
