dual battery install
I have a 2000 f250 superduty 5.4. I installed a second auxillary battery just as a back up incase my main one went down. I removed my charcoal cannister from the drivers side and relocated under the drivers side along the frame up and out of the way. I used the plate the cannister used as my battery bottom plate. Bought a 26r battery ( I think) 550 cca and installed it there. I got a smart isolator off ebay or amazon for around 16 bucks. Ran cables to the ground on each battery and the positive from second battery to the isolator and then the other wires from isolator to the dash toggle switch to flip it if needed to start truck. I tried to make the bigger battery ( stock size) fit but there just wasn't enough room. This set up rocks.
