I just got a 2021 XLT 3.5 last week.
I noticed the battery tray is several inches bigger than the battery. I am planning a battery upgrade as well as some solar and stuff in the future.
Has anyone figured out what size battery will fit on that oversized tray?
Went to batteries plus and found a group 49 fits perfectly. Got a Duracell AGM and went from 700 cca and 70 ah to 850cca and 96ah.

Just because the tray is bigger doesn’t mean that a better or more powerful battery will also be bigger to fill the entire battery tray.
Forget about the physical size of the battery and look at the reserve power and CCA’s of a replacement battery.
