Rough idle, dies but will restart

Hello, maybe these are related.
Sometimes my 2000 truck will start idling so rough it will shake your teeth, it's a random thing. After driving for a while it will smooth out, then might start again a little later.
Randomly, again, truck will die while idling or rolling to a stop, but will easily start right back up.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Could be the under valve cover harness. Time to pull back wire loom and check everything.

I assume just best to go ahead and change since covers are off. Probably with 225,000 miles would be a good time to think about injectors also.

If you do change the harness, be sure to look the new ones over really well and buy only Ford/International.

Check for a loose or missing tinnerman nut holding the IPR solenoid on. Dying while stopping is a symptom that might point to this.

Recommend getting some data - check for codes and see if the PCM is complaining of anything. How-to thread in our sticky section at the top of the forum, and link below:

FORScan/FORScan LITE Class and Q&A - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums (ford-trucks.com)

What is your engine oil level?
What is your fuel level when this happens?

Unplug your ICP sensor - is there oil in the connector? Try driving with the sensor unplugged and see if the issue repeats itself. The PCM will ignore the sensor and use internal values.
.

What he said. My money's on IPR related for the win, w/ a side bet for IPR wiring related.

I wouldn’t change them preemptively. We’ve been seeing some early failures even with the motorcraft harnesses.

If you do end up pulling the valve covers to verify basic integrety, don't forget to retorque the rocker arm pedastals and injector hold-down bolts. Do the 50¢ mod, too.

I'll check, I did have the IPR replaced about a month ago, and yes, used factory part.
What exactly is the tinnerman nut?
i appreciate the feedback

Update:
Able to turn the IPR nut about a 1/4 of a turn
Finally got my OBD2 plug connected to my phone, getting code P0284 code (from what I read could be more than a couple reasons for but most likely injector related).
For those familiar with Forscan lite when I try to add PIDs just a few come up 1.rpm 2.mph 3.Map. I can't find anymore to add. What am I missing??
Just thought, if injector is not performing correctly that would cause a constant rather than an intermittent problem, correct?

Thanks

You might be looking at just the OBDII module in FORScan Lite. Try changing the module from OBDII to PCM on the screen where you select PIDs. I'm guessing you are seeing screens like these (android version - iOS might look different):

Just tap on the word "OBDII" and a menu should come up and you can select "PCM"

When selected, you should see a larger list of PIDs on that module, like the screenshot below.
