Looking at purchasing a used 2020 F250 Lariat with 3.31 Axle. I currently have a 2011 F250 King Ranch with 3.73 Axle. My question is what Axle is best for towing and mileage with the newer 10sp Super Dutys? I see some with 3.55 also. I currently have a 36ft 5th wheel that weights around 11k loaded. Thanks

You didn't say which engine is in the 2020.
There is no 3.43 ratio.
Ford never offered anything but 3.31, 3.55, 3.73 or 4.30 ratios in Super Duty trucks, and only certain of those ratios with certain engines.
So, we need more info on the truck combo you are looking at.
But, most any would tow a 11K 5th wheel.
My bad, you are correct, it is a 3.31 and its the 6.7l not a gasser, thanks for pointing that out, I corrected.
That engine/trans/rear axle combo will tow anything you hook it to without breaking a sweat.
I've pulled 14K actual weight trailers with my 2022 F250 6.7 3.31, no issue what so ever.
I've had both the '20 & '22 F-350 6.7L SCLB with the 11.5k GVWR & 11.4k GVWR respectively, both with 3.55:1 and they both tow spectacularly. Unloaded mpg is 20+ @ 55mph with brush guard, front hitch, Tremor front panel and 275/65R20 Michelin All Terain 10 ply at 67 psi cold.
Towing 11.4k lbs easily @ 70mph is 11-13mpg due to 12.5'x8.5' frontal area of my RV and variations of terrain. The towing mpg improves at 55mph due to reduced wind resistance. Flat roads, good fuel and 50mph to 60mph gives close to 15mpg towing the same rig. I'm older and drive conservatively mostly.
We don't buy SD trucks for their mpg, really. We buy them to do work and haul heavy loads. They do that well. It's hard to beat the 6.7L/10-speed for towing.
2018 250 6.7 w/ 3.31 and 6 speed tows my 14k fiver no issues from Ohio to Ocean City Md.
2022 350 DRW w/ 3.55 and 10 speed tows buttery smooth with all those gears. if 3.31 was an option I would have gone that route because first gear wants to pull an entire house!
Gear ratios always opens a can of worms. I add my experience. I had a 2015 F250 6.7 L with 3.55. Normal driving I got about 13 MPG. Put a 10k Fitth wheel on it miles were 9.5 to 10.5. Traded for a F350 DRW 6.7 L with 4.10 gears and 10 speed. Current milage Mosty town is 13.5-14. and 10 to 11 with trailer.
