I've got an '04 F250 XL 4x4 with the 5.4 and 3.73 rears. The axle code is "C1", and the axle tag says "LS" along with the ratio. I had the diff cover off for an oil change, and it doesn't look like any limited slip I've ever seen. I didn't see any clutches or springs, and the spool (carrier) looked like an normal open diff. Weird. The truck had 17,000 miles when I bought it 14 years ago, so I doubt anyone changed it. It acts like a LS (mostly) on the road.
Am I missing something here? I should have taken a pic, but I didn't think about it at the time. I used to work at a truck gear shop many moons ago, we didn't see a lot of LS diffs, but the few I did see were obvious. I figured someone here would know what's up.
