Another vote for AMP. They have been flawless through every winter. Lots of clearance for hunting and camping trips off road. They also deploy a good bit lower than the factory boards location, which helps the short wife get in unassisted. They also swing out from the body a bit more than the factory boards sit, making it easier to step on them.
I sourced some F150 brackets at used the factory running boards. I may end up changing to AMP, but I wanted to try these first. I like them, my wife would prefer the AMP.
I put the black I-Boards on my 2016. Very good pricing, held up very good, quick shipping. They do set a little higher than other boards but that was not an issue. https://www.iboardauto.com/
I have Ford factory wheel to wheel but if I replace it will be with the Luverne. (as soon as I saw this thread my first thought was the Luverne wheel to wheel)
--Never worry about slip with the grip on them
--They run wheel to wheel and keep rocks/etc from gouging the paint on the side of your truck
--You can access the front of the bed with them
--If you want the can be paint to match (not an issue with a white truck..... I would go with black)
Anyway....... I think they are a great step.
(Note: One thing you might check would be height of the step vs the Amp when deployed. The AMP "may" drop lower deployed which could benefit you.)
Still like the Luverne and never have to worry about it operating properly for if it's caked with ice/snow, or packed with mud. Both are great options. Just depends on what you want/need. Good luck!!
I have the Aries ActionTrac powered running boards. They work great for me and my wife. She's pretty short, and my knees are getting pretty bad. These really give a great step "down", then fold up when the door is closed. I can't access my pictures at the moment, but I'll try and get a picture soon.
Okay, got access to my pictures. Here are the running boards installed. They are 3" below the door retracted, and when extended, go down an additional 8" (11" altogether). And so far they have worked perfectly. A little difficult to install (would be much easier on a lift), but really nothing too bad.
