Grinding noise while turning from a stop
I'm having a problem on my 98 Navi. When turning left from a stop, I consistently hear a grinding noise coming from the front drivers side. I don't have the problem while turning right. The noise gets louder if a accelerate fast from the stop position while turning left. A quick inspection underneath doesn't reveal any broken parts.
I recently had the stabilizer links replaced. The problem existed before they were replaced.
Any ideas? It's driving me crazy.

Do either one of youi have over size tires that might be rubbing? Have you checked for small rocks in your hubcaps? Have you checked for dragging brake calipers (need greasing)? Checked for wheel looseness or play when wheel is down and when jacked up?

My tires are the P245/70/R16 that it calls for. I'm having a new set of Michelin Cross Terrain installed later today. I'll reassess the condition after the tire replacement.
