Hello all. I have read many posts on manual regen for 2011-2016 Power Strokes. You can buy Forscan software for your laptop, buy a OBD scan tool (I have a very good one, Autel Pro). But it is a pain in the @ss to hook up the device (or laptop if you have Froscan) and do this in your driveway and have the engine idle at 2000 RPM for 15 to 20 minutes. When driving on the freeway, and I know I will be on the road for some time, it would be nice to go thru the menu display and kick off a manual regen while driving. Yes, my truck will initiate a regen after driving on the freeway for a couple hours and this works great. However, when driving short distances around town, I do not drive enough to let the regen finish. Sometimes, when driving around town and a few blocks from home, the truck goes into regen, then I hop on the freeway and drive for 20 min until finished. The newer 2017+ trucks you can do a manual regen.
Now, for the $64,000 question (sorry for the long post) I came across a window sticker for a 2016 Super Duty (and have seen several others on Cargurus & Autotrader) where the truck was purchased with the the option of "Operator Command Regen" So this tells me that the factory installed this option. Is there a way you can purchase this software from Ford and install yourself? I have searched Google for Ford software and there are a few apps Ford owners can install themselves. But nothing on Operator Regen. Any help would greatly be appreciated, thank you!
