Heard back from dealer today. Of course I get the usual we can’t duplicate the issue response. They said sync has been updated to latest. I doubt that fixed anything. I tend to drive with one of rear cameras on. This is the message I get when using tailgate camera. Doesn’t seem like that needs to be there. Aside from the cameras turning off and switching back to CarPlay.

Yes. Whoever thought to install that message in the middle of the screen is one S@#$#^##$ A$$.
So are all these things something I'm going to have to look froward to? WHY so many issues?! This is really NOT GOOD!
There's always alot of issues imo. Nothing new. Ford makes 700,000 f series trucks per year. Bound to be alot of f-ups. Should be less than there is but nothing new. My 17' had something like 8 tsb's, recalls and failures of some sort when they went to the aluminum body.

That screen has been like that since at least the 22's...
And they still are not smart enough to realize that they are blocking an important part of the screen.
You'll have to clue me in on what is important because if you are trailering, which is the purpose of being able to pull up that screen while driving, there will be a trailer there, so you cant really see your load, rv, etc... in that small area, but beyond that, what else is it blocking? You arent using it in place of the rear view mirror to see traffic(I hope)... im guessing thats the purpose of that box, is to discourage people from using the rear view camera in place of the mirror...just a thought. Might be regulatory in nature. I dont know what GM and Ram do with that screen if its available at all while driving.
Dont get me wrong, I think its dumb... but if I have a trailer hooked up and I pull up that screen view, that black box is literally sitting on top of the trailer. On my 2 trailers its in a place that doesnt matter if I can see it or not.
Android Auto, and I would assume Apple CarPlay to be similar, seemingly can vary from phone to phone - both wireless and via USB. As an example, I had a Google Pixel 5a when I first received my 2023 and the system always seemed extremely sluggish for various tasks. Getting Android Auto to connect wirelessly seemed to be hit or miss, often enough to where I got a short USB C cable to plug my phone up directly instead of worrying about it. Even when plugged up, things were sluggish, including things I did not think about being related to having a phone connected at all - like switching to different cameras. Hitting the camera button always yielded long delays, sometimes over 10 seconds, before any cameras would pop up. Naturally, I never really used the truck without having my phone with me, so did not consider these things related.
One night, my Pixel 5a bricked while charging (2nd Google phone to do that to me, and thus the last Google product I'll purchase). I went a few days without having a phone connected to the truck, as never pair my work phones with anything other than work equipment. I noticed all of the infotainment center was super responsive. I could switch cameras instantly, it was amazing. So my new phone arrived, Samsung S23 Ultra, and I was amazed that the Sync system all functioned without a hitch when the phone was paired. I tested this out with another, older Android phone I still had around, and it was once again slow. So there is something about how the system processes data sent/received from a cellular device paired with the Sync system that directly impacts the responsiveness of the Sync system as a whole. I'm not sure if it has to do with the bandwidth of a given connection and basically there's a log jam of data it has to clear out between Sync and the phone before it can continue with additional processes requested - i.e. switching cameras - or what. . .no clue. Only wanted to share my personal experience.
I’ve had intermittent problem, now apparently permanent, where most electric circuits go dark: dash, LCD, AC / climate, running boards etc just go dead. Engine starts and runs. We have taillights, but no turn indicators. Rear windows including bed work, but not front windows. Seats work. Really weird. It’s happened before, then problem went away. Now I’m 400 miles from home with 4 passengers and no ac.
Here to chime in with my 23's oddities.
As others stated the dash display always defaults to speedometer. Also every 2-3 days it will reset my display choices and remove the trip B and replace it with the "calm" screen
The AC varies its fan speed without me changing it and without telling me that it is on another setting. almost like auto ac in some vehicles except this is an XL truck without that feature.
Wireless carplay maps freezes for me as well. Have to go to settings and unpair/repair carplay. Have not had the issue on wired carplay yet though...
Threads like these are a constant reminder that Ford is not a computer company and why some people want as little technology in their truck as possible. K.I.S.S.
This is exactly why I bought an XL that was specced as basically as possible. Yet I'd happily trade my failed transmission for these small, albeit annoying, issues!
Coming up on the 6,000 mile mark with two issues(if you even want to call them issues) and thankful I've had good luck so far. Maybe my truck was a mid-week build and y’all just got friday trucks?
The only real major issue I’ve ran into is when draining the engine oil, it’s like a fire hose out of the drain hole. It goes right into the cooler on the front of the transmission, spraying oil EVERYWHERE. First oil change was an absolute disaster. The second one I held up a plastic tote to catch it.
When trying to get the guage cluster back to the MyView setting(every damn time I get in), the word “Measurements” doesn’t show up and that spot is blank.
