My turbo failed and ended up dumping a ton of oil in the downpipe. Truck was smoking bad and there was wet oil out of the exhaust tip. When it failed i was about a mile from home so i drove it back. Im not sure how much oil went down the exhaust, but after a new turbo, it still blew quite a bit of black smoke for several days. Do you think all the oil would have "burned out of the mufller" or do you think it may have caked and clogged it? Trying to decide if i should replace it or not. Thanks for your input.
IDK, but it would have passed through your cat first on the way. I've heard of those getting clogged, don't know with what but assume oil, but haven't heard of clogged mufflers. I guess you'll know if you just keep driving. I'm thinking it would be something that got worse real soon, but not all at once, or else would never be a problem (from that event).

Yep, all that oil had to pass through the kitty first. I'd be very concerned about it clogging.
I think the mufflers have too much open space in them to really clog, so a clogged muffler is very unlikely.
