superduty leveling kit

my dad just got a 3 inch leveling kit from "the edge" suspensions and it was 600 bucks just for a couple of drop shackles, he obviously sent it back because thats horrible for the money spent. I was wondering if anybody recommends a certain type of leveling kit because i am kinda cloudy on the situation. He got some 16.5x 9.75 eagle wheels and wants to put 35's on the truck. I was just curious to see if someone else has done this and if it will actually fit 35's.

thanks

Yes kid in my town had a 1999 F-250 HD with the old powerstroke 7.3. I 'm not sure what kind of kit hes got to level the front but I know it is a leveling kit. Hes running 16.5 x 9.75 Hellcats with 35x12.5 BFGoodrich at/ko's. They fit and look not huge but not small. They fill the wheel wells real good. Check back tomarrow and I'll try to get the kit type. But I haven't seen him in a couple days so he could be gone.

The drop bracket lifts are on e-bay for around 150 bucks all the time. I want to level mine but the drop brackets just seem like they could problems off road and I don't want to change springs and give up the ride quality.

The Edge 3" Hanger and full replacement boxed shackle is $425.00.
The Fabtech 3.5" Hanger and shackle relocation bracket is real close to the same price.

I'd go with one of them.......well built (one a little better than the other) and won't affect spring rate.

The rest of the Edge price is bumpstop spacers, possible front crossmember depending on year, and the Blstein 5100 shocks.

There's the Edge 2" mini spring pack that is around $225 I believe..........doesn't require new shocks, but a good shock like a Bilstein 5100 would help out the ride.

RCD has a hanger and shackle available.......from what I've heard they look like the same build as the stock hanger and shackle, just obviously longer.......I want to say it's aroune $330.

I'd look into an adjustable trac bar, also. Not neccesary but will make install easier and it will keep your axle centered.

If you want something cheap and don't care about the ride possibly look into an add-a-leaf.

The jack-it kit is cheap.............know some people who have broken springs and the trac bar setup though.

I'd be real interested to see the hangers that are sold on ebay in person............won't comment on what I think from the pics.

FWIW, I have a 4" lift on my SD with 35/12.5R16.5 on 16.5x9.75 wheels and the tires rub the inner plastic fender quite easily and I could hit sheet metal if I really tried.

Hope this helps.
