hey yall! i got a '91 f-150 2wd. well currently im savin up for a new truck (a 4x4 of course) but since im a senior in high school and i wont be workin again til feb/mar (i farm) i wont be getting one til spring or summer...anyway i still mud with the 2wd and it works just great. but i want to get a locker to help me out traction wise! however i am on a limited budget! any suggestions?? i looked at the eatons but they are 600 dollars and id rather swap out my front axle for 4x4 if im spendin that much money! anyone got somethin reasonable? thanks

isn't it great to be in high school and unemployed over the winter because they dont need any help on the farm.
check out ebay though i just got an auburn pro series LS for $250
and used r+p for 15 so i made out alright there
Unless you plan to install this yourself, I'd just head over to a 4x4 shop and tell them what you want. That way they'll warranty the work and the locker.
just remember that if you lock the rear with only 2wd, and if it snows, you are going to have one hell of a time trying to get the front wheels to turn. when you try and turn both of the back tires will push the front ones strait. just giving you a heads up.
